It was the musical heyday of Köthen and Leipzig when Johann Sebastian Bach was working in the two cities. Bach created a significant share of his instrumental music, including many of his concertos, while holding the position of Kapellmeister at Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Köthen’s court orchestra. During his time as Thomaskantor in Leipzig, Bach composed most of his monumental sacred-music oeuvre, including hundreds of cantatas. The Hofkapelle München and countertenor Terry Wey will perform these soulful and wistful compositions by Bach in the Spanish Hall.
