The dream of a historically informed ensemble emerging from Tyrol has become a reality: baroque violinist Ursula Wykypiel is in the process of setting up a baroque string orchestra with young musicians at the Hall music school. The Festival has arranged a collaboration between the Haller Streicherey and an internationally renowned ensemble to work together on a joint concert. In the process, the young musicians from Hall get to team up with South Tyrolean baroque violinist Johannes Pramsohler, who started his international career from Paris. Pramsohler and his ensemble, named after the French Enlightenment philosopher Diderot, discover unknown baroque treasures and present them alongside popular gems of early concert music as if on a guided tour of a museum that opens up doors to previously unknown musical worlds.

Together with the Haller Streicherey, Ensemble Diderot will present works from the baroque heyday of the violin concerto and the concerto grosso. The starting point for their musical tour is the Roman string and concerto style as developed by Arcangelo Corelli, which spread throughout Europe. Incidentally, Corelli owned a violin made by Tyrolean luthier Jacobus Stainer.
