Entitled "Nox et alba", this programme invites listeners on a poetic journey through the night — from the blue hour to the first light of dawn. At its heart lies the medieval Alba, the song of the day, which tells of the parting of two lovers after a night together.

Through songs and instrumental pieces — some created especially for this programme — multi-instrumentalists Anne-Suse Enßle and Philipp Lamprecht explore the linguistic and musical diversity of the Middle Ages. The evening culminates in one of the most beautiful Alba songs, "Gar leis in senfter weis", by the Monk of Salzburg, in which the beloved is tenderly awakened.

A night of music rich in contrasts: at times gentle and contemplative, at others spirited and narrative — until the first light of day itself seems to dissolve into sound.
