The Innsbruck Festival Weeks start into August with a musical devotion. In the Jesuitenkirche, Alessandro Melani's "Motetti sagri" from 1670 will receive their modern (partial) premiere. They belong to the works of this prolific and versatile composer, who was active in Rome in the later 17th century, which - compared to his operas and oratorios - lead an all but justified shadowy existence: virtuoso, two- to five-part choral songs with continuo accompaniment after prose texts. A spiritual prelude that promises musical delight!
