The Leipzig-born Bach prize winner Jörg Halubek undertakes a great journey through the baroque organ landscapes during these years. In his complete recording of Bach's monumental organ work, entitled “Bach Organ Landscapes”, he plays on ten different historical instruments which played an important role in Bach's music and reflect the organ building traditions of his time. This summer, while on his organ journey, Halubek will make a detour to the Festival. Although Innsbruck's rich organ landscape has no direct connection to Bach, there are some interesting points of reference to the Baroque era, such as the organ facade of the Cathedral of St. James, which dates back to the Bach period. Halubek will be heard playing at the Pirchner organ in this very cathedral.
