Arrival

Ottavio Dantone, the new Musical Director of the Innsbruck Festival Weeks, is not only one of the leading figures in the field of «Early Music» and an outstanding conductor. He is also an exceptional chamber musician, effortlessly maneuvering across the entire spectrum of historical keyboard instruments.

Hence, Ottavio and his musical friends and colleagues are inaugurating a new series in the Festival Weeks' agenda called «Ottavio Plus,» which is set to have a new edition every year.

For 2024, the Apulian-born musician has invited his longtime musical companion Alessandro Tampieri, the concertmaster of Accademia Bizantina and a soloist on the violin, viola, and viola d'amore, to join him in a collaborative duo performance. Together, they will present a program celebrating the virtuoso interplay between keyboards and strings, showcasing music from the early 17th to the 18th century.
