The Continuum ensemble, led by harpsichordist Elina Albach, has been dedicated to arranging Baroque works for several years. While their past endeavors involved downsizing large-scale pieces, this purely instrumental program focuses on translating solo works composed for the organ by Johann Sebastian Bach into chamber music dimensions.

Adapting Bach's organ works for other instruments isn't a novel concept. However, Continuum's musicians seek innovative ways to transform the musical material sonically with contemporary means. While preserving the structure and sentiments of the original works, they utilize an unusual mix of «old» and «new» instruments such as the Zink and Viola da gamba, along with «melodic percussion,» to create unforeseen tonal colors.

Inspired by the poem «Transcription of Organ Music» by the American poet Allen Ginsberg, a prominent figure in the Beat Generation, this profoundly beautiful program seeks new and surprising ways to make Bach's genius, eccentricity, and depth in organ compositions more tangible and captivating.
