Barque Ensemble
The Barque Ensemble is an early music ensemble founded in Łódź in 2019, brought together by a shared passion for historically informed performance practice and a long-standing friendship. The musicians’ versatility in playing a range of historical instruments enables the ensemble to achieve an authentic and distinctive sound that reflects the differences between national styles and historical periods. As a result, the ensemble’s repertoire ranges from the early Renaissance to the Classical period.
Among the ensemble’s most significant achievements are Second Prize at the 13th International Telemann Competition in Magdeburg and Second Prize at the Maurizio Pratola Early Music Competition in L’Aquila. In 2020, the Barque Ensemble also received the Amber Harp of Aeolus and the PKO Bank Polski Prize at the ‘Schola Cantorum’ National Early Music Festival in Kalisz.
