Elisa La Marca

Elisa La Marca graduated cum laude in guitar at the Milan Conservatory and in lute with Massimo Lonardi. She specialized in early music performance with Rolf Lislevand (at the Trossingen State University of Music), Paul O’Dette and Hopkinson Smith. She has appeared as a soloist in important international festivals and plays continuo with Il Giardino Armonico, Les Musiciens du Prince, English Baroque Soloists, Zefiro, Cappella Mediterranea, Il Pomo d’Oro and Accademia dell’Annunciata. Having gained expertise in various plucked instruments, over many years she has developed a particular interest in the Renaissance lute repertoire. This led her to appear in concerts and masterclasses at the Universities of Colorado and Rhode Island and to cofound the Quartetto di Liuti da Milano (2012), with which she made the CD “Vita de la mia vita”. “The Queenes Maskes”, her first solo album, is the fruit of her passion for this repertoire.
