François de Carpentries

The French stage director François De Carpentries worked with Belgian theatre companies for several years before joining the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels in 1990. As chief director there, he collaborated with Patrice Chéreau, Willy Decker, Luc Bondy, Bob Wilson and Peter Sellars, amongst others. Since 1996, he has staged numerous musical theatre productions of his own. In Germany, he has worked for the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Staatstheater Nürnberg, the Landestheater Coburg, the Theater Koblenz, the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, the Theater Görlitz and the Staatstheater Oldenburg; in Austria, he has worked for the Innsbrucker Festwochen, the Landestheater Linz and the Oper Klosterneuburg.
