Il Gusto Barocco

The ensemble ‘il Gusto Barocco’ combines historically informed performance practice with fresh ideas. Founded by Jörg Halubek, il Gusto Barocco brings together international musicians who share a common artistic language. Their long-standing musical rapport enables them to ‘read’ the score in a similar way, thereby exploring the creative freedoms of 17th- and 18th-century music in all their facets.

Particularly in its own Stuttgart series, il Gusto Barocco is dedicated to the rediscovery of forgotten masterpieces, with a special focus on German Baroque operas. Through a close integration of research and practice, sonic sophistication and stupendous virtuosity, this specialist ensemble is creating a new Stuttgart Baroque sound.
