NovoCanto
The Austrian vocal ensemble NovoCanto was founded in 2000 with the aim of performing rarely heard repertoire, primarily from the field of early music, in a style true to the original. Since then, however, the ensemble has also demonstrated its expertise on numerous occasions in performing choral works from the Romantic and contemporary periods. The performers come from all parts of Tyrol and are predominantly graduates of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg or the Tyrolean State Conservatoire; the majority work full-time as music teachers.
Since its foundation, the choir has not only established itself nationally through numerous innovative and thematically focused programmes, delivered with stylistic precision, but has also produced live broadcasts for radio and television and has been recorded on numerous audio recordings.
