Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik–50th Anniversary

since their foundation in 1976, the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik have stood among the foremost international festivals dedicated to historically informed performance practice. With the festival’s unwavering commitment to period instruments, staged opera productions and the nurturing of emerging talent from across the world, the festival has shaped the early music landscape for half a century.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik will present their Jubilee Programme 2026 at the Austrian Embassy in Berlin. At the heart of the celebration stands the festival opera «Il pomo d'oro» by Pietro Antonio Cesti, in a reconstructed edition conducted by Ottavio Dantone, alongside further highlights from the anniversary season.

Online Press Conference
For those unable to attend in person, an online press conference will be held in advance on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, at 3.00 p.m. via Zoom, offering an in-depth presentation of the Jubilee Programme. Artistic Director Eva-Maria Sens and Musical Director Ottavio Dantone will introduce the key highlights of the season and will be available to answer questions.
