From the world of the Golden Apple – The Costumes

Giuseppe Palella – or: the man of sequins
In early March, Giuseppe Palella, the costume designer for ‘Il pomo d’oro’, was a guest at the Circle of Friends’ get-together. Alongside stories of life behind the scenes – featuring everyone from George Clooney to Louis Vuitton – he offered insights into the aesthetic that will grace the Festwochen stage this summer:
Goddesses and gods appear in glitter, sequins, colour and baroque exuberance – set against a clearly defined, modern human world, reflected in understated, contemporary costumes.
