Following a highly successful start, the second week of the Festwochen is already under way: this weekend brings the 3rd and 4th Ambraser Schlosskonzert. The Concerto mobile also sets off on its travels, and we're delighted to present the jubilee publication marking our 50th anniversary!
With two concerts in the Spanish Hall, the first two Ambraser Schlosskonzerte rang in the Festwochen. On Friday, the Baroque orchestra 'La Cetra' delighted a sold-out hall; on Saturday, Dorothea Seel and Dorothee Oberlinger, together with the Barocksolisten München, gave flute lovers a real treat.
Next up: on Friday, 31 July, Festwochen stalwart Sigiswald Kuijken and La Petite Bande lead us into Bach's musical universe with 'Bach à 7'.
Tickets are still available for the 4th Ambraser Schlosskonzert on Saturday, 1 August (click the image to be redirected). In 'Dafne', Il Gusto Barocco under the direction of Jörg Halubek, together with three soloists, turns to fragments of the world's oldest opera.
This week also sees the first Concerto mobile of the summer, offering free listening – and dancing – for all.
For two days, the InVent Quintet will fill the city with music. On Friday, 31 July, they can be heard at 2pm in Rapoldi Park, at 3.30pm at Innsbruck Info, and at 5pm in the RAIQA-Quartier. On Saturday, 1 August, they'll perform at the Klocker Museum (Hall) from 11am, at Wohnheim Saggen from 2pm, and at the Volkskunstmuseum at 3.30pm. All concerts are free and open to all – simply drop by.
Jubilee publication
Half a century of Festwochen also means an incredible wealth of musical experiences waiting to be told. Former Festwochen dramaturge Rainer Lepuschitz has taken a look back and poured it into our jubilee publication – with pictures to jog the memory and stories to relish. It's an entertaining read that – fittingly, given the exhibition opening next Monday – will stir up personal memories.

Cast change
For health reasons, René Jacobs has sadly had to withdraw from the Festwochen, with a heavy heart. At his personal request, Attilio Cremonesi will take over the direction of 'Il Trionfo' on Saturday, 22 August. The two share a long-standing collaboration – including within the Festwochen – and as Artistic Director of the Händelfestspielorchester Halle, Cremonesi is a recognised Handel specialist.
In the Barockoper:Jung production of 'Atalanta', Sarah Hayashi will step into the role of Meleagro in place of Oda Nysæter. Festwochen audiences will remember her from last year, when she appeared as Fortuna and Leocasta in Vivaldi's opera 'Il Giustino'.
