Ottavio Dantone invites you to the inaugural Concerto for his first season as Musical Director of the Innsbruck Festival Weeks! On the program: The Serenata «Il trionfo della Fama» by the Habsburg court composer Francesco Bartolomeo Conti. Joining Ottavio Dantone on stage: Accademia Bizantina, the choirs La Stagione Armonica and NovoCanto, along with Benedetta Mazzucato, Sophie Rennert, Nicolò Balducci, Martin Vanberg, and Riccardo Novaro, an exquisite ensemble of soloists.

The allegorical narrative of the Serenata follows the «Metamorphoses» of Ovid: Fama, the goddess of fame and rumor, has built a fortress in a place between heaven and earth, land and sea, from where everything can be seen and monitored, every voice heard, and every word recorded. From here, she interacts with four choirs, representing the continents known at that time, to celebrate a ceremonial offering in honor of Emperor Charles VI, feared throughout the world. On the occasion of the «celebration of his happiest and most glorious name» in 1723 in Prague, he could see himself mirrored in the virtuoso role of «Valore,» personifying bravery.
