A «sounding journey through time to the golden ages of Venice – magical yet free of kitsch» is how «Vogue» magazine reviewed Dorothee Oberlinger’s CD «Flauto Veneziano». In the summer of 2019, the «prima donna assoluta» on the flute takes the Innsbruck Festival audience along on this trip. She will play one of Vivaldi’s most beautiful and most virtuoso flute concertos, «Il Gardellino», which reproduces the song of the eponymous goldfinch onomatopoeically with the flute. But Dorothee Oberlinger will also bring flute music from periods before Vivaldi with her to Innsbruck, including exotic pieces by Giorgio Mainerio, as examples of the marked oriental influence on the music and musicians of the Serenissima.
