She launched a solo collaboration project entitled ‘Lamenti di Donna’ with the renowned Spanish Baroque ensemble La Spagna, under the direction of Alejandro Marías, embarking on a concert tour that received glowing critical acclaim:
‘An interpreter of gigantic vocal qualities.’ ‘A singer of enormous expressiveness, she astounded at various moments with great drama and excellent prosodic work, very effectively resolving chromatic passages to amplify expression.’ (Codalario) ‘The soprano, an undisputed musical beacon of the concert, immediately amazed the audience.’ (Ritmo.es) ‘Jiayu Jin is a singer who, far from the aloofness often attributed to many Eastern musicians, possesses an admirable dramatic vein.’ ‘She knows how to find the balance between expressiveness and composure, and possesses a natural elegance.’ (Scherzo)
In 2024, Jiayu also embarked on a major Baroque tour across China with Fabio Bonizzoni, La Risonanza, and China’s only period-instrument Baroque orchestra, Shanghai Camerata. Performances were held in the country’s finest concert halls, including Jaguar Shanghai Symphony Hall. With over 1,200 tickets sold out in person and more than 20,000 online viewers, the tour significantly contributed to the development and public appreciation of Baroque music in China.
