Yeuntae Jung, born in 1989 in Seong-Nam, South Korea, he completed his diploma and master’s degree at the recorder with honours at the Berlin University of the Arts under Prof. Christoph Huntgeburth. He completed his musical profile with a master’s degree in transverse flute at the Berlin University of the Arts. During his studies he received important musical impulses from Michael Form, Pedro Memelsdorff, Prof Kees Boeke, Prof Yamaoka Shigeharu, Susanne Fröhlich and Martin Ripper.

As a soloist, he gained recognition by winning 2nd prize at the renowned early music competition ‘International Competition Musica Antiqua 2017 Brugge’. He also won 3rd prize with his ensemble nexus baroque at the ‘International Berlin Bach Competition 2013’ and 2nd prize and the audience prize at the ‘XVII Biagio Marini Competition 2016’. His ensemble chorda elegans was awarded 1st prize, the audience prize and the prize for the best interpretation of a work from the Berlin School at the 3rd International Berlin Bach Competition 2018.

Yeuntae Jung performs with various renowned ensembles, including the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Lautten compagney and nuri collective. He has performed on international stages with artists such as Maurice Steger, Enrico Onofri, Rüdiger Lotter, Hansjörg Albrecht, Gotthold Schwarz and Sunhae Im.

He regularly can be heard as a soloist and orchestral musician with the Bochum Symphony Orchestra as part of the ‘Bosy Concerto’ concert series.

Away from the stage, Yeuntae Jung is also active as a music teacher. In addition to teaching at music schools, he regularly leads masterclasses and seminars for students and adults. In summer 2019, he held seminars for recorder players on basso continuo in Seoul. In winter 2021, he led a workshop with the Bochum Symphony Orchestra focussing on ‘Telemann’s works for recorder’.
