Andrea Gavagnin

Born in 1997, Andrea Gavagnin has graduated with great distinctions both at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice (bachelor in Renaissance and Baroque singing) and the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels (master in singing). He has won a second prize of the Bovicelli competition 2020 and has been a finalist at the Concours de chant baroque de Froville 2020 and at the Cesti competition in Innsbruck in 2023.

In 2024, he has taught ornamentation and improvisation at the Royal conservatory in Brussels.

He performs internationally with ensembles such as Scherzi Musicali (Nicolas Achten), Profeti della Quinta (Elam Rotem), La Cetra (Andrea Marcon), Faenza (Marco Horvat), InAlto (Lambert Colson), ClubMediéval (Thomas Baeté), Choeur de chambre de Namur (Leonardo García Alarcón), Cappella Concertata (Yves Corboz), Collegium Vocale Gent (Philippe Herreweghe).

In 2020, he has founded the ensemble Prattica di musica, focused on the discovery of vocal music from the XVI and XVII centuries.

He has debuted on stage in 2019 as Idaspe in Albinoni’s La Statira (Opera studio Benedetto Marcello/Teatro La Fenice, Venice). He has sung the role of Messaggera/Radamanto in Caccini’s L’Euridice with Scherzi musicali (Nicolas Achten) in 2022 and the role of Vita Eterna in A. Draghi’s Il Dono della Vita Eterna with Cappella mediterranea (Leonardo García Alarcón) in 2023.

He has been a member of the Cappella Marciana of St. Mark’s, Venice, with which he regularly performs for Teatro La Fenice and has won the ICMA early music 2020 award.

He has recorded several CDs for Ricercar, EnPhases, Musica Ficta, Musique en Wallonie, CPO, Concerto Classics, Brilliant Classics, Tactus and Amadeus.
