The brilliance of trumpet sounds was indispensable for both court society and the people. Even in the days of Emperor Maximilian I there were trumpeters among the musicians of the Innsbruck court orchestra. In Tyrol, there are several trumpet consorts playing on natural trumpets again today. During the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, historical music for trumpets and timpani is presented in the historic centre in front of the «Goldenes Dachl» building.
