A «changing of the guard» in the courtyard of the Imperial Palace: the Promenade Concerts hand over to the Festival. The two Innsbruck summer festivals join up in 2019. The historically informed Tiroler Barockinstrumentalisten orchestra will perform in the season’s final Promenade Concert. Outdoor music, which already existed in the baroque era, accords splendidly with both brass music and historically informed performance practice, most notably Handel’s famous compositions like the London «Water Music».
