The Cesti finale also marks the end of the Festival: after three days of competition, the singers elected by the panel of judges will sing for the prizes awarded by the 8th International Singing Competition for Baroque Opera. The programme will once again feature highlights from baroque operas, written by the leading composers of the 17th and early 18th centuries. Monteverdi, Cavalli, Cesti and Handel will serve the young singers of today as a starting point for an international career with their dramatic and lyrical music.
