Rocío Pérez

Madrid-born soprano Rocío Pérez trained from a very young age in music, clarinet, and theatre. She studied singing at the ESCM and joined the opera studio of the Opéra National du Rhin which she took part in until 2016.

Since then, in addition to singing with international orchestras such as Le Talens Lyriques and the OCAM, Rocío has developed an extensive professional career in opera. Her main roles include Queen of the Night in ‘Die Zauberflöte’ at the Semperoper Dresden, Lucia in ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’ and the title role in Meyerbeer’s ‘Dinorah’ at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Nannetta in ‘Falstaff’ and Clorinda in ‘La Cenerentola’ by Rossini at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Gilda in ‘Rigoletto’ at the Opera de Nancy, Olympia in ‘Les contes d’Hoffmann’ at the Finnish National Opera and La Fenice in Venice, as well as Berenice in ‘L’occasione fa il Ladro’ and Madame Herz in ‘Der Schauspieldirektor’. Feu/Princesse/Rossignol in ‘L’enfant et les sortilèges’ at the Opera de Lyon, Norina in ‘Don Pasquale’ at the Opéra-Théâtre Metz Métropole, Aristea in Cimarosa’s ‘L’Olimpiade’ at the Theater an der Wien and the Opera de Versailles with Les Talens Lyriques, Le rossignol in Stravinsky’s ‘Le Rossignol’ and Thérèse in Poulenc’s ‘Les mamelles de Tirésias’ at Nice Opera. Zerlina in ‘Don Giovanni’ at the Teatro Colón in A Coruña, Carolina in ‘Il matrimonio segreto’, Funny in ‘La cambiale di matrimonio’ and Tebaldo in ‘Don Carlo’ at the Opera National du Rhin.

Rocío has played various roles in Zarzuelas, such as Francisquita in ‘Doña Francisquita’, Paula in ‘Tres sombreros de copa’, and Doña Inés in ‘El caballero de Olmedo’ at the Teatro de la Zarzuela.

Rocío has won numerous international competitions, including the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the 36th International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, the first Gesangswettbewerb ‘Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg’, and the Concours International de Chant de Marmande.

In the 2024/25 season, Rocío will debut as Manon Lescaut in Auber’s ‘Manon Lescaut’ at Turin Opera, Violetta Valéry in La Traviata at the Gran Teatro Cordoba, and Adina in ‘L’elisir d’amore’ at Opera National de Lorraine. Rocío will also sing at the Saint Denis de Paris and Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik.
