Benedetta Mazzucato is from Reggio Emilia and made her first stage appearances at the age of thirteen in Hans Krása’s opera 'Brundibar' at the Teatro Ariosto in her hometown, in Prague and in Cremona. From 2007 to 2011, she was a member of the choir of the Teatro Regio in Parma and took part in the Rossini Opera Festival Academy. In the same year, she completed her studies as an alto at the Reggio Emilia Conservatory with top grades. In 2012, Benedetta was selected to take part in the Young Singer Project 'Domingo Thorton' at the Los Angeles Theater under the direction of Placido Domingo and to perform Mahler’s symphony 'Das Lied von der Erde' with the Concertgebouw Orchestra. In 2013, she took part in the 'Jardin des Voix' under the direction of William Christie and in the Salzburg Young Singer’s Project, where she played the Third Lady in Mozart’s 'Die Zauberflöte'.
Most recent and future engagements include Argene in Vivaldi’s ‘L’Olimpiade’ at Theater an der Wien, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik and Théâtre des Champs Elysées, concerts with L’Arpeggiata and Orchestre National de Lyon, with Christina Pluhar and Rolando Villazón at Festival d’Ambronay, Aalto-Musiktheater Essen and in Lyon, the title role in Vivaldi’s ‘Arsilda’ with La Cetra Barockorchester Basel, and Fama in Conti’s ‘Il trionfo della Fama’ at the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik and the Wiener Konzerthaus. Past engagements have included Bradamante in Handel’s ‘Alcina’ at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Second Witch in Purcell’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’ at the Opera Royal de Wallonie, Early Music Festival of Utrecht and Caracalla’s Baths Rome, Dori in Salieri’s ‘La Grotta di Trofonio’ at Teatro di San Carlo in Napoli and Valle d’Itria Festival, the title role in Handel’s ‘Silla’ Palau de les Arts Valencia, Nireno in ‘Giulio Cesare’ in Toulon, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at Jesi Festival, her debut as Ottavia in ‘L’incoronazione di Poppea’, Nahual in the European premiere of ‘Orfeo Chamán’ at the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele and in Bogota, title role in Handel’s ‘Catone in Utica’ at Baroque Opera Festival Barga, and La Virtù in Vivaldi’s ‘La senna festeggiante’ with Baroque Orchestra of Sevilla.
Other past engagements include Maddalena in Verdi’s ‘Rigoletto’ at Reggio Emilia Restate, Pergolesi’s 'Stabat Mater' at Le Palais Royale in Paris, a tour of China with the Associazione Abruzzese Amici della Musica Orchestra, Nireno in ‘Giulio Cesare’ at Handel Festival Versailles, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle at Festival d’Art Lyrique d’Aix en Provence, Clearco in Gasparini’s ‘Il Bajazet’ with Auser Musici and Zulma in ‘L’Italiana in Algeri’ in Vichy.
Benedetta works regularly with the ensemble L’Arpeggiata, LaVerdi Barocca and Le Jardin des Voix in France, New York, Madrid, Moscow, Amsterdam, Helsinki and Milan. She was a finalist of the Innsbruck Baroque Singing Competition Pietro Antonio Cesti and the international competition Renata Tebaldi in San Marino and was part of the academy at the Rossini Opera Festival.
