La Stagione Armonica was founded in 1991 by the madrigalists of the Centro di Musica Antica of Padua and has dedicated its long career primarily to the Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, although in recent years the choir has also worked on classical and contemporary pieces. Since 1996, the ensemble has been directed and rehearsed by its artistic director Sergio Balesracci.
Stagione Armonica has its own team of instrumentalists and soloists - all well-known performers - and has collaborated with various orchestras and ensembles such as Hesperion XXI, Accademia Bizantina, Orchestra Acàdemia 1750, Accademia degli Astrusi, Dolce & Tempesta, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, I Solisti Veneti and Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini.

The ensemble has been led by renowned conductors such as Anthony Rooley, Nigel Rogers, Jordi Savall, Peter Maag, Gustav Leonhardt, Andrea Marcon, Ottavio Dantone, Reinhard Goebel, René Jacobs, Jonathan Webb, Howard Shelley, Claudio Scimone, Federico Ferri and Zsolt Hamar. The ensemble has repeatedly worked with Riccardo Muti since 2009.

Stagione Armonica has participated in the most important festivals in Italy and abroad, recorded for RAI, for German, Swiss, French and Belgian radio and television stations and for the labels Astrée, Tactus, Denon, Argo (Decca), Tall Brook, Arabesque, Symphonia, Bongiovanni, cpo, Archivi, Deutsche Grammophon, Brilliant, Fuga Libera, German harhonia mundi (Sony) and for the magazine Amadeus. In 2015, it took part in the recording of “Semiramide - La Signora Regale” with the Accademia degli Astrusi orchestra, soloed and produced by Anna Bonitatibus. The resulting album was awarded “Best Operatic Recital” at the International Opera Awards.

In 2009 and 2011, the Stagione Armonica choir performed Giovanni Paisiello's “Missa Defunctorum” and Luigi Cherubini's Requiem in D minor with the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini under the direction of Maestro Muti at the Salzburg Festival.
