Alexandra Semenova (born in Moscow, 1984) is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher based in Madrid, whose broad area of work includes illustration, large-format graphic work, research in the field of film studies and aesthetics, collaboration in theatre and lately, also on television.
Author of illustrations for more than ten books, winner of competitions in the field of illustration and visual arts, laureate of two medals from the Russian Academy of Fine Arts (2013, 2014), Alexandra has been a finalist in the annual APIM competition in 2020 and in 2021, when she was recognized for her artistic collaboration with PerPoc in the stage version of ‘Puss in Boots’. Whether graphic arts, theatre, research or illustration, Alexandra’s work always shows a deep interest in the Baroque and the aesthetics of the 18th century, in particular, which became a true leitmotiv of her visual language.
